Claw clipping

Postby phil_si » Wed Jun 24, 2009 7:54 pm

Has anyone had much experience with getting their cats claws clipped?
Our cats are predomantly indoor and their claws don't seem to go down much with the scratch posts and their time outside.

How much generally does this cost per cat and how regular would it need doing?

Claw clipping is not a problem if your kitti is calm and relaxed. Usually after being fed or when sat in the sun.
My nail clippers were quite inexpensive and bought from a pet shop. They are similar to these http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/cat_ ... pers/13630 They come with instructions. Remember not to cut into the vein in the claw, this is easily seen unless your a has dark coloured claws, or there will be bleeding and your kitti will be in pain.
